Raven Mechanical was founded on October 15, 1979, by Bill and Patty Jones, with a simple yet powerful mission: to improve the mechanical contracting industry and build a company rooted in integrity, excellence, and family values. What began as a modest endeavor has grown into a leading force in Texas’s mechanical services industry.
Bill and Patty’s journey began long before Raven’s inception. Married in 1968—Bill just 19 and Patty 18—they built their life and business on a foundation of love, trust, faith, hard work, and a deep devotion to Christ. Coming from humble beginnings and with no safety net to rely on, they forged ahead with relentless determination and a work ethic that set the tone for the company they would build.
Their values of faith, perseverance, and excellence became the foundation of what Raven Mechanical represents today.
The name Raven was created by combining the names of their two sons, Ray and Stephen, symbolizing their vision to create a lasting legacy for future generations. From the start, Raven Mechanical was committed to quality, forward thinking, integrity, and teamwork—values that continue to define our company today.
Over the decades, Raven has evolved and grown, but the principles instilled by Bill and Patty remain the cornerstone of our business. They retired in 2007, and although we sadly lost Patty in 2019—shortly after celebrating 53 years of marriage—her spirit and dedication continue to inspire us.
Today’s Leadership
Raven Mechanical remains a family-owned and operated business, proudly led by Stephen Jones. What began as a local Houston-based company now serves customers across Texas, including Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio.
